A message on the LIS Medical list recently asked about alternatives to the now defunct NHS Economic Evaluation Database (EED) (archive of NHS EED is still available at: https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/CRDWeb/). Here are some of the suggestions from the group (in random order):
- The TRIP Database also includes NHS EED – http://www.tripdatabase.com/ Search 70+ databases from ‘Evidence-based’ sites around the world. This resource aims to support those working in primary care. Sources searched by TRIP include evidence based synopses, clinical questions, guidelines, E-Textbooks, medical images, patient information leaflets, systematic reviews and core general medical journals.
- Try Return on Investment in Medline, you should get papers indexed with subject headings/sub-headings such as – Economics, Medical; *Investments — statistics & numerical data; Models, Economic; *Public Health – economics
- Useful publications on this topic include: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30442221 and https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14737167.2016.1246962
- We also use Tufts Cost Effectiveness Analyses Registry (CEA Registry) http://healtheconomics.tuftsmedicalcenter.org/cear2n/search/search.aspx and Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) https://ideas.repec.org/
- NHS resources are useful such as NHS employers, NHS digital, King’s Fund
- CADTH have some useful resources and filters: https://www.cadth.ca/
- Anne Gray has a good wiki with lots of useful sites: http://annegraylksworkshop.pbworks.com/w/page/114376834/Useful%20resources
- For search filters, the best collection is at the InterTASC group website: https://sites.google.com/a/york.ac.uk/issg-search-filters-resource/home
- The CEA (Cost Effectiveness Analysis) Registry is a collection of over 5,500 articles containing cost-utility analyses: https://cevr.tuftsmedicalcenter.org/databases/cea-registry (via Shrewsbury and Telford Health Libraries http://www.library.sath.nhs.uk/find/)
