Workforce planning, measuring mental well being, health statistics and more

Here are some resources I have come across recently and added to the Handbook.

Nursing Workforce Planning Tool (Skills for Health) This tool aims to assist nursing workforce planning and help make better decisions about cost effective numbers and mixes of nurses.

Tools for measuring mental health well being – see “The definition and measurement of well-being and quality of life in mental health promotion and outcomes.” Appendix 1 of the 2014 Annual Report of the Chief Medical Officer 2013.

SCIE –Transitions in mental health services for young adults

Young people in transition a guide from the Joint Commissioning Panel describing good quality mental health transitions services for young people making the transition from child and adolescent to adult services.

Commissioning resources around development of advice and counselling services for young people from Youth Access.

OHE Guide to UK Health and Health Care Statistics, 2013
Up-to-date statistics and a guide to finding and using health statistics from the UK, including population, activity, expenditure and family health services.

CCG population estimates based on the ONS Annual Small Area Population Estimates, 2013

NHS reference costs –  the average unit cost to the NHS of providing secondary healthcare to NHS patients and are used to set prices for NHS-funded services in England. Updated annually.
