With the recent wobbles in prime contractor procurement in Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire, the tender from four CCGs in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent for cancer and end of life care will be watched closely.
Transforming Cancer Care is new approach to cancer and end of life care services using a two-stage, ten-year contract. Stage 1 (up to two years) requires a prime provider/service integrator to manage the contracts for all the services along existing cancer care pathways. In stage 2 the provider will assume responsibility for managing the provision of cancer care.
It is interesting to note that the official TED tender for this multimillion pound contract is headed United Kingdom-Cambridge: Accounting system which is not very informative!
