Search: Effectiveness of Chlamydia screening in Schools

The topical nature of this search request meant it was highly likely there would be numerous documents reporting on chlamydia screening in general, however, the emphasis for this request was on school-based screening programmes which limited the search results. The NHS Evdence Specialist Collections in Screening and Infections were obvious starting places for identifying the evidence, with references to NICE and HPA guidelines and reports.  Other sources used were: The Cochrane Library, HMIC; MEDLINE; EMBASE; CINAHL; BNI, as well as Intute (for relevant websites) and Google Scholar (to cover any other literature not previously identified). Due to the currency of the topic results were restricted to publications since 2003.

The main strategy focused on chlamydia/screening and schools, with a combination of keyword searching and related subject headings as indicated below, with some of the relevant documents/websites identified also listed.
